The centres and the date of holding the Indian Forest Service examination 2013 as mentioned above are liable to be changed at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission. Applicants should that there will be a ceiling on the number of candidates allotted to each of the centres, except Chennai, Delhi, Dispur, Kolkatta, and Nagpur. Allotment of centres, will be on the “First Apply First Allot” basis, and once the capacity of a particular centre is attained, the same will be frozen. Applicants, who cannot get a centre of their choice due to ceiling, will be required to choose a centre from the remaining ones. Applicants are, thus, advised that they may apply early so that they could get a centre of their choice.
NB : Notwithstanding the aforesaid provision, Union Public Service Commission reserve the right to change the centres at their discretion if the situation demands.
Blind candidates will, however, be required to take the examination at any one of the seven centres viz. Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Dispur and Mumbai. Candidates admitted to the IFS examination 2013 will be informed of the time table and place or places of IFS examination.
The candidates should note that no request for change of centre will be entertained.
B. Plan of Examination
The Indian Forest Service Examination 2013 will consist of two successive stages ( vide Appendix I Section I below ).
- Civil Services ( Preliminary ) Examination 2013 ( Objective type ) for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service ( Main ) Examination 2013; and
- Indian Forest Service ( Main ) Examination ( Written and Interview ) for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service. Applications are now invited for the Preliminary Examination only. Candidates who will be declared by the Union Public Service Commission to have qualified for admission to the Indian Forest Service ( Main ) Examination 2013 will have to apply again, in the Online Detailed Application Form which would be made available on the website of the Union Public Service Commission after declaration of results of Preliminary Examination. The Main Examination is likely to be held in September / October, 2013.
