    • UpscExam February 3, 2012 at 10:07 am # Reply

No, Diploma holders are not eligible to apply for UPSC Civil services examination because, graduation degree course form a recognised university is a must, Final year Graduate candidates are also apply for Civil Service examination. So, I will suggest you to complete your graduation and then apply for UPSC Civil services examination.

The Age Limit for Civil Service examination should between 21 to 30 years and Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC / ST / OBC Candidates.

So, please go for Graduate degree course and then you are eligible for UPSC Civil services examination. The Civil Service examination was Conducted by UPSC Every year in two stages, Preliminary examination and Main examination and Firstly you have to complete the Preliminary examination only then you are eligible to appear for the Main examination.

Preliminary examination was Objective and Main examination was descriptive and for Main examination you have to choose the Optional subject, so if you are Interested in this examination to become IAS / IPS Officer, then please complete your graduate degree course and then apply for UPSC Civil services examination.

Sir, I’m about to prepare for IES Examination since it is easier than IAS (mine being an engineering background). Can a person who has been selected in IES, appear for Civil services exam.?? I’ve researched on UPSC site but there, the restriction is only for IAS/IFS officers on job. Does that mean a person selected in allied services, appear for the Civil Services Examination after joining his job?? Your prompt reply would be highly appreciated. Thanks.
