4. Age Limit for SSC SI in Delhi Police, CAPF and ASI in CISF 2016

  1. Age limits for the Staff Selection Commission post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police, CAPFs, Assistant Sub Inspector in CISF is 20 – 25 years.

    Note I : The upper age limit for the post of Sub Inspector in CAPFs and ASI in CISF is relaxable for Central Government Civilian Employees as per extant Government order.

    Note II : The crucial date for age limit for Staff Selection Commission is reckoned with reference to 01.01.2016 candidates should note that only the Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation / Secondary Examination Certificates or an Equivalent certificate will be accepted by the Staff Selection Commission for determining the age eligibility and no subsequent request for its change will be considered.

  2. Category-codes and age relaxation available to different category of eligible candidates, for claiming Age Relaxation as on the date of reckoning are as under :

    14iii. Central Government Civilian Employees ( SC / ST ) who have rendered not less than 3 years regular and continuous service as on closing date10 ( 5 + 5 ) years.
    16For Group 'C' posts

    i. Central Govt. Civilian Employees ( General ) who have rendered not less than 3 years regular and continuous service as on closing date.
    Upto 40 years of age.
    18ii. Central Govt. Civilian Employees ( OBC ) who have rendered not less than 3 years regular and continuous service as on closing date.Upto 43 years of age.
    20iii. Central Govt. Civilian Employees ( SC / ST ) who have rendered not less than 3 years regular and continuous service as on closing date.Upto 45 years of age.

    Note – I : Ex-servicemen who have already secured employment in civil side under Central Government in Group “C” & “D” posts on regular basis after availing of the benefits of reservation given to ex-servicemen for their re-employment are not eligible for fee concession. However, eligible for claiming benefits of reservation under EXS category will be considered as per OM No.36034/1/2014-Estt(Res) dated 14th august 2014 issued by DOP&T.

    Note – II : The period of “Call up Service” of an Ex-Serviceman in the Armed Forces shall also be treated as service rendered in the Armed Forces for purpose of age relaxation for SSC as per rules.

    Note – III : For any serviceman of the three Armed Forces of the Union to be treated as Ex-Serviceman for the purpose of securing the benefits of reservation, he must have already acquired, at the relevant time of submitting his application for the SSC Post / Service, the status of ex-serviceman ( should possess ‘Discharge Certificate’ ) and / or is in a position to establish his acquired entitlement by documentary evidence from the competent authority that he would complete specified term of engagement from the Armed Forces within the stipulated period of one year from the closing date ( i.e 05.02.2016 ).

    Note – IV : Age concession for SSC CISF Exam is not admissible to sons, daughters and dependents of Ex-Servicemen.

    Note – V : A matriculate Ex-Serviceman ( which term includes an Ex-Serviceman, who has obtained the Indian Army Special Certificate of education or corresponding certificate in the Navy or the Air Force ), who has put in not less than 15 years of service as on closing date with Armed Forces of the Union shall be considered eligible for appointment to the Group C posts of SI in Delhi Police and ASI in CISF only. Thus, those Non-Graduate Ex-Servicemen who have not completed 15 years of service as on the last date for receipt of Staff Selection Commission CISF 2016 applications as stated in Note – III under para 4 (B) are not eligible for these posts. Further, as per extant guidelines of Department of Personnel & Training, deemed graduation of Indian Army Special Certificate of education or corresponding certificate in the Navy or the Air Force, on completion of 15 years in Armed Forces is not applicable for Group – B posts.

    An Ex-Serviceman means a person :

    1. who has served in any rank whether as a combatant or non-combatant in the Regular Army, Navy, Air Force of the Indian Union, and

      1. who either has been retired or relieved or discharged from such service whether at his own request or being relieved by the employer after earning his or her pension, or

      2. who has been relieved from such service on medical grounds attributable to military service or circumstances beyond his control and awarded medical or other disability pension; or

      3. who has been released from such service as a result of reduction in establishment. or

    2. who has been released from such service after completing the specific period of engagements, otherwise than at his own request or by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency, and has been given a gratuity; and includes personnel of the Territorial Army, namely pension holders for continuous embodied service or broken spells of qualifying service. Or
    3. personnel of the Army Postal Service who are part of Regular Army and retried from the Army Postal Service without reversion to their parent service with pension, or are released from the Army Postal service on medical grounds attributable to or aggravated by military service or circumstance beyond their control and awarded medical or other disability pension. Or
    4. Personnel, who were on deputation in Army Postal Service for more than six months prior to the 14th April, 1987. Or
    5. Gallantry award winners of the Armed Forces including personnel of Territorial Army. Or
    6. Ex-recruits boarded out or relieved on medical ground and granted medical disability pension.
    7. Note VI : The benefit of age relaxation available to Central Government Civilian Employees is not available to the post of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police.

      Note VII : OBC certificates issued by Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi ( GNCTD ) for candidates for OBCs listed by GNCTD but not included in Central list of OBCs will be accepted for post of SI in Delhi Police only for reservation and age relaxation proposes.

  3. Process of Certification and Format of Certificates : Candidates who wish to be considered against SSC vacancies reserved / or seek age-relaxation must submit requisite certificate from the competent authority, in the prescribed format when such certificates are sought by concerned Regional / Sub Regional Offices at the time of document verification. Otherwise, their claim for SC / ST / OBC / ExS / Departmental candidates ( Delhi Police ) status will not be entertained and their candidature / applications will be considered under General ( UR ) category. The formats of the certificates are annexed. Certificates in any other format will not be accepted. The Staff Selection Commission has decided to accept OBC certificate in the prescribed format ( containing non-creamy layer status ) issued between 06.02.2013 and 03.08.2016 for this examination.

    Note : Candidates are warned that they will be permanently debarred from the examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission in case they fraudulently claim SC / ST / OBC / ExS / Departmental candidates ( Delhi Police ) Status.
