Eligibility for Mizoram PSC Research Investigator Jobs 2016 :

  1. Graduate of recognised University with honours in History / Geology / Anthropology.
  2. Preference will be given to the candidates having knowledge of Archaeology.
  3. Working knowledge of Mizo language upto Middle School standard. It may be relaxed in case of candidates belonging to Chhimtuipui District.

Mizoram PSC Research Investigator Age Limit 2016 : He must have attained the age of 18 years but must not have exceeded the age of 35 years. Provided that the upper age limit may be relaxable upto a maximum of 5 years in respect of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates.

Application Fee for Mizoram PSC Research Investigator 2016 : Application Fee Rupee320/- ( or Rupee270/- SC/ST applicants ) should be paid by cash at the Reception Counter of Mizoram Public Service Commission or by depositing into the Treasury under the Head-0051-PSC, 102-State PSC ( Examination Fee etc ) or by uncrossed Indian Postal Order (IPO) drawn in favour of Secretary, Mizoram Public Service Commission. Certified copies of Certificate and Marksheet of academic record from HSLC and above, Tribal / Caste Certificate ( for SC/ST only ), and other relevant documents pertaining to the post must be submitted along with application form.

Unit – I (30 Marks)

Rocks types of rocks: igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic, their characteristic features, origin and field structures; General information on rocks found in India.

Minerals – definition and types; simple physical properties for distinguishing common minerals : colour, luster, transparency, hardness (Moh’s scale of hardness), fracture and cleavage; Crystalline forms of minerals and conditions of crystal formations; General study of rock forming minerals : quartz, feldspar, mica.

Unit – VI : Aptitude Test (20 Marks)

  1. Numerical and Figurework Tests : (4 Marks)

    These tests are reflections of fluency with numbers and calculations. It shows how easily a person can think with numbers. The subject will be given a series of numbers. His/Her task is to see how the numbers go together to form a relationship with each other. He/She has to choose a number which would go next in the series.

  2. Verbal Analysis And Vocabulary Tests : (6 Marks)

    These tests measure the degree of comfort and fluency with the English language. These tests will measure how a person will reason with words. The subject will be given questions with alternative answers, that will reflect his/her command of the rule and use of English language.

  3. Visual And Spatial/3-D Ability Tests : (4 Marks)

    These tests are used to measure perceptual speed and acuity. The subject will be shown pictures where he/she is asked to identify the odd one out; or which comes next in the sequence or explores how easily he/she can see and turn around objects in space.

  4. Abstract Reasoning Tests : (6 Marks)

    This test measures the ability to analyse information and solve problems on a complex, thought based level. It measures a person’s ability to quickly identify patterns, logical rules and trends in new data, integrate this information, and apply it to solve problems.
