Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission State Eligibility Test 2007

Scheme of Test:

The examination will consist of three papers. All the three papers will be held on one day in two separate sessions as under:

Paper-I: will be of general nature intended to assess the teaching / research aptitude of the candidates. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension and divergent thinking.

Paper-II: will consist of short questions based on the subject selected by the candidates. These papers will consist of a Test Booklet containing 50 objective type questions. The candidates will have to mark their response for each question on the answer sheet provided along with the Test Booklet.

Paper-III: will consist of only descriptive questions from the syllabus of the subject selected by the candidates. The candidates will be required to attempt questions in 2600 words in the space provided in the test booklet. The structure in of this question Paper –III be as follows:

A candidate who does not appear in Paper-I will not be permitted to appear in Paper-ll and Paper-Ill. The question Paper-Ill will be evaluated only for those candidates, who are able to secure the minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I and Paper-ll as per the table given below:

It may be noted that 30 minutes extra time in Paper-I and Paper-ll and 45 minutes extra time in Paper-Ill to the visually disabled candidates appearing in SET Examination will be given.

Besides, the visually handicapped candidates may be provided a writer who is a graduate (Bachelor's degree) from the same faculty but in a discipline other than that of the candidate. In paper-Ill, candidates have the option to answer either in Hindi or in English in all subjects except languages where the candidates are required to write in the concerned language only.

In case of any discrepancy found in the English and Hindi versions, the questions in English version shall be taken as final.

Note:

  • SET qualified candidates shall be eligible to apply for the post of Lecturer (College Cadre) only in the University / Colleges belonging to Himachal Pradesh State from where they have cleared the examination.

  • Please Read Col.No.4 of the Information Brochure As "The Candidates Should Write The Name Of Examination In Capital Words i.e. Set (State Eligibility Test), 2007 And Subject Opted For The Set."
  • Disputes, If Any, Shall Be Subject To Court Jurisdiction At Shimla.
