Union Public Service Commission invites Online Recruitment Applications ( ORA* ) for recruitment by Selection to the following posts.

1. Ten Assistant Director ( Cost ) in Junior Time Scale of Indian Cost Accounts Service in Office of the Chief Adviser Cost, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance. Of the ten posts, one post is reserved for Scheduled Castes candidates, two posts are reserved for Scheduled Tribes candidates, one post is reserved for Other Backward Classes candidates and remaining six posts are Unreserved. The posts are suitable for Physically Challenged Persons viz. Hearing Impaired i.e. Deaf ( D ) or Partially Deaf ( PD ) or Orthopaedically Handicapped / Locomotor Disability / Cerebral Palsy i.e. Both Legs affected but not arms ( BL ) / One Leg Affected ( Right or Left ) ( OL ) / One Arm Affected ( Right or Left ) ( OA ).

Qualifications : Essential : Educational :

A qualification recognized for enrolment in the Register of Members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or of the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India or equivalent.

Desirable Qualifications for UPSC Assistant Director ( Cost ) 2013 :

  1. Degree of a recognized University or equivalent.
  2. Three years’ experience in Cost Accounting Work.

UPSC Assistant Director ( Cost ) Duties : Cost Analysis / Cost Examination.

2. Two Assistant Director ( Physics ) in Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Department of Forensic Science Services, Ministry of Home Affairs. The posts are Unreserved.

Qualifications : Essential : A. Educational for Assistant Director ( Physics ) : Master’s Degree in Physics / Biophysics / Forensic Science with Physics as one of the subjects at Bachelor of Science level from a recognized University or equivalent. No Masters Degree will be treated as equivalent to those mentioned above, specifically.

B. Experience : Seven years experience of analytical method and research therein in the field of Physics.

UPSC Assistant Director ( Physics ) Desirable Qualification : Experience of working in a Forensic Science Laboratory.

Duties of UPSC Assistant Director ( Physics ) : Crime Scene Management, Crime Case Examination, giving evidences in the Courts of Law under Section 293 of Cr.PC, providing guidance to the junior scientific staff for case analysis, R & D activities on Forensic Activities and imparting training in their respective field of forensic specialization to the trainees from different investigating agencies / forensic science labs and other organizations.

HQ : Hyderabad / Kolkata / Chandigarh / Bhopal / Pune / Guwahati.

Any Other Conditions : The officer may be required to serve in any part of India.

3. Five Junior Staff Officer in National Crime Records Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs. Of the five posts, one post is reserved for Other Backward Classes candidates and remaining four posts are Unreserved. The posts is suitable for Physically Challenged Persons viz. Orthopaedically Handicapped / Locomotor Disability / Cerebral Palsy i.e. One Leg Affected ( Right or Left ) ( OL ).

Qualifications : Essential : Educational :

(A) (i) Master’s Degree in Computer Applications or Computer Science or M.Tech ( with specialization in Computer Applications ) or B.E / B.Tech. in Information Technology or Computer Engineering or Computer Science or Computer Technology from a recognized University or Institute; (A) (ii) Two years’ experience of electronic data processing work including experience of actual Programming; Or

(B) (i) B.E / B.Tech in Electronics or Electronics and Communication Engineering from a recognized University or Institute; (B) (ii) Three years’ experience of electronic data processing work, out of which one year’s experience should be in actual Programming; Or

(C) (i) Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Applications or Computer Science or Information Technology or Electronics from a recognized University or Institute; (C) (ii) Three years’ experience in electronic data processing work, out of which one year’s experience should be in actual Programming; Or

(D) (i) “A” level Diploma under Department of Electronics and Accreditation of Computer Courses or Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications or Computer System and Management or Information System and Application or Computer Science or Computer Technology or Information Technology or Electronics or Electronics and Communication offered under University Programme or Post Polytechnic Diploma in Computer Applications or Computer System and Management or Information System and Application or Computer Science or Computer Technology or Information Technology or Electronics or Electronics and Communication awarded by the State Council of Technical Education. (D) (ii) Four years’ experience of electronic data processing work, out of which at least two years’ experience should be in actual Programming.

Duties of UPSC Junior Staff Officer 2013 :

  1. Conducting Functional Requirements Study;
  2. Supervision and finalization of study material for various training modules;
  3. Preparation of various Crime Criminal Application related manuals;
  4. Conducting training in Crime;
  5. Undertaking field visits for monitoring implementation of Crime Criminal Applications;
  6. Any other duties assigned by the higher authorities from time to time.

HQ : New Delhi.

4. One Superintending Mining Geologist in Indian Bureau of Mines, Ministry of Mines. The post is Unreserved.

Qualifications : A. Educational : Master’s Degree in Geology or Applied Geology from a recognized University or equivalent.

B. Experience : Ten years experience in Supervisory capacity in geological appraisal / exploration of mineral deposits.

UPSC Superintending Mining Geologist Desirable Qualifications :

  1. Doctorate Degree in Geology or Applied Geology from a recognized University or equivalent.
  2. Experience in different aspects of prospecting for Economic Minerals and surveying; and
  3. Working knowledge of computers with special emphasis on commonly used Software in office.

Duties of Superintending Mining Geologist : Conducting Integrated Geological Studies for appraisal of mineral deposits and undertaking MCDR inspections / studies for enforcement of MCDR, 1988. Supervising the preparation of mineral maps with forest overlays at the Head Quarter and also preparation of National Mineral Inventory in respect of leasehold areas on regular basis. To examine / inspect geological and environmental / technological aspects of mining plan / scheme and furnish comments on the same.

HQ : Nagpur with liability to serve anywhere in India.

5. One Associate Town and Country Planner in Town and Country Planning Organization, Ministry of Urban Development. The post is exclusively reserved for Scheduled Castes Candidates. The post is suitable for Physically Challenged Persons viz. Hearing Impaired i.e. Partially Deaf ( PD ) or Orthopaedically Handicapped / Locomotor Disability / Cerebral Palsy i.e. One Leg Affected ( Right or Left ) ( OL ).

Qualifications : Essential : A. Educational :

Post Graduate Degree in Town or City or Urban or Housing or Country or Rural or Infrastructure or Regional or Transport or Environmental Planning from a recognized University or Institute.

B. Experience : Five years’ experience in the field of Urban and Regional Planning or Development Control or Town Planning Laws or Geographic Information System in the Central Government or State Governments or Union Territories or Universities or Recognized Research Institutions or Public Sector Undertakings or Semi Government or Autonomous or Statutory Organizations.

Desirable Qualification for UPSC Associate Town and Country Planner : Associate membership of the Institute of Town Planners, India.

UPSC Associate Town and Country Planner Duties : To act as in-charge of various studies in connection with the Master Plan. Preparation of detailed site plans including designs. Preparation of development plans with special emphasis on redevelopment schemes. Preparation of civic design project.

HQ : New Delhi with liability to serve any-where in India.

Any Other Conditions : Touring will be involved within India.
