UPSC Recruitment 2016 for Anthropologist, Junior Works Managers

Union Public Service Commission invites online Recruitment applications (ORA*) for Recruitment by Selection to the Following Posts

1. One Anthropologist (Cultural Anthropology Division) in Anthropological Survey of India, Ministry of Culture, Department of Culture (OBC-01). The post is permanent.

Pay Scale : Rupee15,600-39,100 (PB-3) + Rupee5,400 (Grade Pay) (T.E. Rupee47,250/- Approx.) + TA and HRA as admissible. General Central Service Group ‘A’ Gazetted.

Age Limit* : 38 Years

Qualifications : Essential :

(A) Educational : Master’s degree in Anthropology of a recognized University or equivalent with evidence of specialization in Cultural Anthropology.
(B) Experience : About two years’ research Experience in the field of Cultural Anthropology.

Note : About two years’ research Experience means that Experience should not be less than one year & nine months.

Desirable : Evidence of Experience in the field work in tribal areas.

Duties :

  1. To lead field parties and to carry out Anthropology investigation in the field of Cultural Anthropology and to prepare reports.
  2. To prepare research plans and programs and to supervise the research work of other scientific members in collection of data, analysis of data and writing of reports.
  3. To do such other works as and when assigned by the Head of the Department.

HQ : Kolkata

Any Other Conditions : Must be prepared to undergo extensive touring.

2. One Anthropologist (Physical Anthropology Division) in Anthropological Survey of India, Ministry of Culture, Department of Culture (UR-01). The post is permanent.

Qualifications : Essential :

(A) Educational : Master’s degree in Anthropology of a recognized University or equivalent with evidence of specialization in Physical Anthropology.
(B) Experience : About two years’ research Experience in the field of Physical Anthropology.

Of the six posts, one post is reserved for Physically Challenged Persons with disability viz. Orthopaedically Handicapped/Locomotor Disability/Cerebral Palsy with One Arm Affected (Right or Left) (OA). The posts are suitable for Physically Challenged Persons with disability viz. Age Limit* : 30 Years

Qualifications : Essential : Educational : Degree in Chemical Engineering/Technology from a recognised University/Institution or equivalent OR M.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognised University or Equivalent.

Duties : A Sr. Group-B (Gazetted) post having Duties of Managerial nature. A Junior Works Manager is required to work as a Head of Section/Workshop/Office or a Group in the Workshop/Section/Office and be fully responsible for proper working of the Group allotted to him. For this Duties and responsibilities, he is to report to Divisional Officer who is a Group-A Officer, either directly or through Head of Section.

Of the five posts, two posts are reserved for Physically Challenged Persons with disability viz.
