EQ: Edu: i) Good academic record with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E, and F at the Master’s degree level in Zoology from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a Foreign University. Explanation: The term “Good Academic Record” means at least second class with fifty per cent marks in graduation degree. ii) Should have cleared the eligibility test (NET) for lecturers conducted by the University Grants Commission, Council for Scientific and Industrial Research or similar test accredited by the University Grants Commission. NOTE: 1: NET shall remain compulsory requirement for appointment as Lecturer even for candidates having Ph. D degree. However, the candidates who have completed M. Phil degree by 31st Dec 1993 or have submitted Ph. D thesis to the University in the concerned subject on or before 31st December 2002 are exempted from appearing in the NET examination. In case, such candidates fail to obtain Ph. D Degree, they shall have to pass the NET Examination. NOTE: 2: Relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55 to 50% of the marks to be Ph. D degree holders who have passed the Master’s Degree prior to 19th September, 1991. NOTE: 4: A relaxation of minimum marks at the Post Graduates level from 55 to 50% may be provided to candidates who have cleared the Junior Research Fellowship Examination conducted by the UGC/CSIR only prior to 1989 when the minimum marks required to appear for J.R.F. Examination was 50%.
Age limits, as on 12.10.2006, the age limit shown against Item No.1 is relaxed age limit for OBC candidates. The age limit shown against all other S. Nos (except Item No.4) is normal age limit and only in these cases age is relax able for SC/ST candidates up to 5 years and for OBC candidates up to 3 years in respect of posts reserved for them. For Item No.4, the age limit for SC/OBC candidates is mentioned against the Item itself. Age is also relaxable for certain other categories. Candidates with disabilities (as indicated against each item) can apply to the respective posts even if the post is not reserved for them. However, such candidates will be considered for selection to such posts by general standard of merit, Persons suffering from not less than 40% of relevant disability shall alone be eligible for the benefit of reservation and other relaxations as permissible under the rules. Quails are relaxable at Commission’s discretion.
Prescribed Esq. are minimum & mere possession of same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview. Where number of applications received is large the Commission will short list the candidates to be called for interview. Fee Rs.50/- payable in form of Central Rectt. Fee Stamps ONLY to be affixed on application form, No other mode of payment is acceptable. No fee for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped candidates. Candidates abroad should enclose fee receipt issued by Indian Embassy/Mission.
