Union Public Service Commission invites Applications for the following Posts

1.Four Senior Scientific Officers, Grade- II(Electronics – Computer Engineering / Computer Science) in the Directorate General of Quality Assurance, Department of defence Production, Ministry of Defence. Defence Quality Assurance Service. Out of four posts, one post is reserved for Scheduled Castes candidates and two posts are reserved for Other Backward Classes candidates.

Qualifications : Essential :

A.Educational: Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Computer Technology/Information Technology or M.Sc in Computer Science from a recognised University or equivalent.

B. Experience : Two years’ practical experience in Software Development or Software Quality Assurance.

Desirable : Knowledge of German, French, Russian, Japanese or Chinese Language.

Duties : Preparation of specifications and vetting of documents pertaining to procurement of items/stores. Technical evaluation, testing, inspection and quality assurance activities of equipments, system/sub-systems and stores indented by the services pertaining to the relevant discipline. Creation of test facilities as per various laid down standards/specifications. Value engineering studies of items/stores.

Any Other Condition : Any officer appointed to the services, if so required, shall be liable to serve as a commissioned officer in the Armed Forces for a period of not less than four years including the period spent on training, if any : Provided that such officer :-

a) Shall not be required to serve as aforesaid after the expiry of ten years from the date of appointment to the service or from the date of his joining prior to the initial constitution of the service, and

b) shall not ordinarily be required to serve as aforesaid if he has attained the age of forty years.
