Except for the Defence Services Examinations at Serial Numbers 2,3,8 and 9, the upper age limits are relaxable in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes and certain other categories as notified by the Government from time to time.

Female candidates are not eligible for the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination and the Combined Defence Services Examination
