UPSC - Junior Scientific Officer, Superintending Mining Geologist Exam 2007

Applications on prescribed form are invited by 11th October 2007 (18th October 2007 in respect of applications received only by post (by post) from candidates residing in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti districts and Pangi sub-division of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, A & N Islands or Lakshadweep or abroad). Pay scale (Approx total emoluments excluding HRA & CCA) & upper age limits immediately follow name of the post. The date for determining eligibility of all candidates in every respect shall be the normal closing date prescribed for receipt of applications viz. 11.10- 2007.

Home Ministry

1. One Junior Scientific Officer (Biology) in the Central Forensic Science Laboratories, Directorate of Forensic Science. The post is exclusively reserved for Scheduled Castes Candidates. Rs.6500-10500/-(T.E. Rs.13163/-). 35yrs.

Education Qualification

A. Education: Master's degree in Botany/Zoology/ Microbiology/Biotechnology with Botany or Zoology as one of the subjects at Bachelor of Science level/Biochemistry with Botany or Zoology as one of the subjects at Bachelor of Science level/Physical Anthropology with Botany or Zoology as one of the subjects at Bachelor of Science level/Forensic Science with Botany or Zoology as one of the subjects at Bachelor of Science level/Genetics with Botany or Zoology as one of the subjects at Bachelor of Science level from a recoginized University or equivalent.

B. Experience: Two years' experience of Analytical methods and research in the field of Biology.

Mines Ministry

2. One Superintending Mining Geologist in Indian Bureau of Mines.

Rs.14300-18300/-(T.E.Rs.27992/-). 50yrs.

Education Qualification:

A. Education: Master's degree in Geology or Applied Geology from a recognised University or equivalent.

B. Experience : Ten years' experience in a supervisory capacity in geological appraisal/Exploration of mineral deposits.
