3. Distribution Of Vacancies Will Be As Per Rules.
4. Age : (As on 01-07-2008):-
Minimum Age Limit - Should have completed 18 years (for all candidates).
Maximum Age Limit - Should not have completed 30 years.
5 years age concession due to ban order is applicable.
No maximum age limit for SCs, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs (Other than BCCs & BCMs), BCCs, BCMs and Destitute Widows of all castes, who have passed PTC / PUC / HSC / Diploma / Degree.
5. Educational Qualification(S):
Candidates should possess the following or its equivalent qualification on the date of this Notification, viz. 05-05-2008:
Minimum General Educational Qualification
Diploma in Handloom Technology obtained from the Indian Institute of Handloom Technology, Salem or Varanasi or from any other recognized Institute of Handloom Technology.
Diploma in Textile Manufacture obtained from the Technological Diploma Examination Board, Chennai or the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu.
Explanation:
Minimum General Educational Qualification means:
A pass in the SSLC Examination with eligibility for admission to College course of studies in the Universities in this State. (11 years course of study)
A pass in the SSLC Examination of this State. (10 years course of study)
6.Scheme Of Written Examination (Objective Type) And Oral Test:
Selection will be made on the basis of the total marks obtained by the candidates both in the Written Examination and Oral Test taken together, subject to the Rule of Reservation of appointments.
The examination will be of a single paper in Diploma Standard in the subject viz. Textile Technology (115), (for Syllabus please refer Tnpsc Bulletin No.11, dated 16-05-2001 at page 990 and at www.tnpsc.gov.in), the maximum marks of which will be 300 for 200 questions.
The marks for Oral Test and Record are 40. The minimum qualifying marks for selection both in the Written Examination and Oral Test & Record are as follows:
For Reserved Communal Categories - 30% i.e. 102 marks
For Others - 40% i.e. 136 marks
7. Examination Fee:
Examination fee should be paid by Postal Receipt to the value of Rs.100/- (Service charge of Rs.5/- for Post Offices should be paid separately).
8. Examination Centre:
Examination will be held at Chennai (001) only.
9. Other Details:

10. Issue Of Application Forms:
OMR application form along with enclosures can be obtained from all the Head Post Offices in Tamil Nadu or Puducherry and from the Commission's Office on cash payment of Rs.30/-.

11. Receipt Of Applications:
Filled in applications must be sent to the Controller of Examinations.
