Statistical Investigators Grade IV Examination, 2007
Staff Selection Commission will hold on Sunday, the
24th June, 2007
an open competitive examination for recruitment to the post of Statistical Investigator Grade IV of Subordinate Statistical Service(SSS), a Group‘C’ non-Gazetted non-Ministerial post in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation in the pay scale of Rs.5000-8000, all over the country.
2. Vacancies/Reservations:
Approximately 114 vacancies. These vacancies are provisional and may increase or decrease. Category-wise reservation of these vacancies among SC/ST/OBC/PH etc. will be determined in due course.
NOTE-I:
Candidates selected for appointment are liable to serve anywhere in India i.e. All India Service Liabilities (AISL).
NOTE-II:
3% reservation for the Visual impaired/Hearing impaired/and person with locomotive disability (1% in each category) is available for this post. Orthopaedically Handicapped (OH) / Hearing Handicapped (HH) / Visually Handicapped (VH) candidates with the following acceptable level of impairment are eligible for the post of Statistical Investigator Grade IV of SSS:

NOTE III:
“No scribe will be allowed to any candidate including the visually Handicapped candidates.” Further, there will be no provision of Braille script in respect of Question Papers & Answer Book/sheet for VH candidates.
NOTE-IV:
VH candidates with disability up to 40% who wish to use Magnifying Glass for reading Question Papers and for writing/indicating Answer, shall be allowed to use the Magnifying Glass in the Examination Hall. However, such candidates will have to bring their own Magnifying Glass in the examination hall.
3. Nationality/Citizenship:
A candidate must be either:
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January,1962,with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b),(c),(d) and (e) above, shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the Examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.
