SSC Departmental Competitive Exam 2010 Eligibility

4. Eligibility for SSC Departmental Exam 2010

Any permanent, regular or temporary regularly appointed of the Lower Division Grade to the Central Secretariat Clerical Service, Armed Forces Headquarters Clerical Service, Railway Board Secretariat Clerical Service, Election Commission of India Clerical Service, Central Vigilance Commission Clerical Service, Department of Tourism (Headquarters Estt.)

Clerical Service and Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs Clerical Service who satisfies on crucial date the following conditions shall be eligible to appear at the SSC examination.

1. Crucial Date : 01.08.2010 (1st August, 2010).

2. Length of Service :

He / She should have on the crucial date that is on 01.08.2010 rendered not less than 5 years approved and continuous Service in the Lower Division Grade of the Central Secretariat Clerical Service, Armed Forces Headquarters Clerical Service, Railway Board Secretariat Clerical Service, Election Commission of India Clerical Service, Central Vigilance Commission Clerical Service, Department of Tourism (Headquarters Estt.)

Clerical Service and Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs Clerical Service and not less than 3 years of approved and continuous service in the post of Lower Division Clerk in Election Commission of India Clerical Service counted from the date of the candidate’s appointment in the said grade.

Provided that if he / she had been appointed to the Lower Division Clerk in the Central Secretariat Clerical Service, Armed Forces Headquarters Clerical Service, Railway Board Secretariat Clerical Service, Central Vigilance Commission Clerical Service.

Department of Tourism (Headquarters Estt.) Clerical Service and Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs Clerical Service on the result of a SSC Departmental Competitive Examination, including SSC Limited Departmental Competitive Examination, the result of such SSC examination should have been announced not less than 5 years before the crucial date and he / she should have rendered not less than 4 years approved and continuous service in the Grade or in the case of Election Commission of India Clerical Service is 3 years counted service from the date of the candidate’s SSC appointment in the said grade.

Note :

1. The limit of 5 years of approved and continuous service will also apply if the total reckonable service of a candidate is partly as a SSC Lower Division Clerk and partly, as Upper Division Clerk in the Central Secretariat Clerical Service, Armed Forces Headquarters Clerical Service, Railway Board Secretariat Clerical Service, Central Vigilance Commission Clerical Service, Department of Tourism (Headquarters Estt.)

Clerical Service and Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs Clerical Service and in case of Election Commission of India Clerical Service such limit 3 years counted from the date of the candidate’s SSC appointment in the said grade.

2. Any permanent or regular or regularly appointed temporary Lower Division Clerk of the Central Secretariat Clerical Service, Armed Forces Headquarters Clerical Service, Railway Board Secretariat Clerical Service, Central Vigilance Commission Clerical Service, Department of Tourism (Headquarters Sett.)

Clerical Service and Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs Clerical Service and Election Commission of India Clerical Service who joined the Armed Forces during the period of operation of proclamation of emergency issued on 26th October, 1962, namely 26th October, 1962 to 9th January, 1968 would on reservation from the Armed Forces be allowed to count the period of his / her service (including the period of training, if any) in the Armed Forces towards the prescribed minimum service. (This Rule has now become redundant and as such, is not in operation).

3. Lower Divison Clerks, who are on deputation to ex-cadre posts with the approval of the competent authority will be eligible to be admitted to the SSC examination if otherwise eligible.

This however, does not apply to a SSC Lower Division Clerk who has been appointed to an ex-cadre post or to another service on “transfer” and does not have a lien in the Lower Division Grade of the Central Secretariat Clerical Service, Armed Forces Headquarters Clerical Service, Railway Board Secretariat Clerical Service, Central Vigilance Commission Clerical Service, Department of Tourism (Headquarters Estt.)

Clerical Service, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs Clerical Service and Election Commission of India Clerical Service.
