20. How to Apply: The Application Form will be sent by the concerned Regional Directors/Dy. Director of the Commission to each eligible candidate who qualify in the Combined Graduate Level (Prel) Exam-2006 The candidates are advised to get in touch with the concerned Regional Office in case they do not receive the application form WITHIN TWO WEEKS from the date of DECLARATION of results for the Combined Graduate Level (Preliminary) Exam-2006 The filled up form, complete in all respect and supported by requisite documents must be submitted to the concerned Regional Director/Deputy Regional Directors by the stipulated Closing date. Candidates must send the duly filled up Applications for the Combined Graduate Level (Main) Exam-2006 to the Office of the same Regional Director/Dy. Director where he/she had applied for the . Combined Graduate Level (Prel) Exam-2006.
In case the candidates do not receive their Admission Certificate well before the Examination date, they should contact the concerned Regional Office one week before the date of examination with the Roll No. of the Preliminary Exam. and documentary evidence of passing the preliminary stage of Examination.
The application must be filled up by the candidate in their own handwriting. They must put their signature at the appropriate places / Declaration, failing which the application will be summarily rejected by the Commission without any correspondence with the candidate.
Note - I: The Applicants in their own interest are advised to go through the Commission’s Notice, as published in the Employment News for all relevant details.
Note - II: The envelope containing the application must be superscribed in bold letters as “APPLICATION FOR COMBINED GRADUATE LEVEL ( MAIN ) EXAMINATION, 2006” and the name of the Centre from where the candidate intends to appear should be written in capital letters at left side corner.
Note - III: SC/ST/OBC candidates should also superscribe their category on the envelope.
Note - IV: Application may also be submitted at the Commission’s Regional/Sub- Regional Office concerned, Personally / By Hand within the stipulated date and time of submission.
Note - V: Candidates should occupy their seat in the examination venues according to Ticket Number printed on their Admission Certificates as seating plan will be displayed at the venue in the same manner. It may be noted that Ticket Number and Roll Number are two different things.
Note - VI: If any candidate appears at a centre other than the one indicated by the Commission in his/her Admission Certificate and take the examination therefrom, the papers of such candidate will not be evaluated and his/her candidature will be liable to cancellation.
Note - VII: Due care should be taken by the candidates to fill up their application form correctly. No column of the application should be left blank. Incomplete or defective applications shall be summarily rejected. No representation or correspondence regarding such rejection shall be entertained under any circumstances.
Note VIII: The Departmental Candidates / Central Govt. Civilian Employees May Send Their Applications Directly To The Commission After Intimating Their Head Of Office / Department And Need Not Send Another Copy Through Proper Channel. However ,If They Decide To Send A Copy Through Proper Channel, They Must Ensure That The Application Complete In All Respects Reaches The Staff Selection Commission By The Closing Date And Time. Application Shall Be Rejected If Received Late And / Or Not Complete In All Respects As Provided In Rules.
Note IX: No Original Certificate Must Be Sent Alongwith The Application.
Note X: Only The Application Form Will Be Sent By Concerned Regional Office Of The Commission To The Candidates. Sample Forms For Various Certificates I.E. Sc/St/Obc/Xs/Ph Etc. As Annexures I To Vi Have Been Published Herewith. The Candidates Should Attach The Requisite Certificates In These Prescribed Formats.
21. Preference:
A candidate shall be required to indicate in his / her application form for the Main Examination various services / posts for which he / she would like to be considered for appointment in the order of higher preference in case he / she is recommended for appointment by Staff Selection Commission.
While exercising option for Cypher Assistants, candidates may kindly note that at Ministry of External Affairs( Headquarters ), the Cypher Bureau functions round the clock. Selected candidates will thus have to perform duties in shifts. In missions abroad, they can also be required to attend Office at odd hours depending upon the exigencies of Cypher work.
Note: The candidate is advised to be very careful while indicating the order of preferences for various services / posts. The candidate is also advised to indicate all the services / posts in the order of preference in his / her application form. In case he / she does not indicate any of services / posts, it will be assumed that he / she does not want to be considered for those services. Allocation of services to the candidates selected would be made strictly, keeping in view their position in merit and the order of preferences for various services.
22. No candidate will be admitted to the examination unless he holds certificate of admission from the Commission. The candidate must take the examination at the allotted centre of examination.
23. Any dispute in regard to this Recruitment will be subject to courts/tribunals having jurisdiction over the place of concerned Regional/Sub-Regional office of SSC, where the candidate has submitted Application.
24. Candidates have the option to submit either self attested / self certified photocopies of various documents or to submit photocopies of various documents duly attested by a Gazetted Officer as per extant procedure alongwith the application form. However, the original documents / certificates will be verified at the time of Personality Test /Interview and their candidature will be subject to result of such scrutiny. While exercising the facility of self-attestation of various documents, the candidates are warned that:
a) any wrong attestations so as to mislead the Commission or to gain access to our Examinations, would lead to criminal/debar action against the candidates, besides cancellation of their candidatures,
b) all original certificates will be checked at the time of Personality / Skill Test, as the case may be, and their candidature is subject to result of such scrutiny.
25. Closing Date: Application forms duly complete in all respects must reach the concerned Regional/Sub Regional Office of the Commission latest by 11.05.2007. Application received after the stipulated last date shall not be accepted by the concerned Regional/Sub Regional Office of the Commission.

26. Documents to be Attached with the Application:
Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS) of Rs.100/- affixed and clearly cancelled as prescribed in this Notice on the Application Form.
One recent good quality Passport size photograph which should be identical to those used in the Preliminary Examination.
One self addressed Postcard worth postage of Rs.6/-. The candidate must indicate “APPLICATION FOR COMBINED GRADUATE LEVEL (MAIN) EXAMINATION-2006”.
- One self-addressed envelope of 12 cms x 25 cms size, which must be affixed with postage stamps worth Rs.5/-.
- Document(s) in support of claim of SC/ST/OBC/ExS /PH persons.
Attested copies of Matriculation certificates or equivalent as a proof of age (Date of Birth), copies of certificates/degrees towards proof of educational qualifications.
- Documents in support of claim of age relaxation [for categories not covered in item (v) above].
An undertaking from the Candidates in Government Service indicating that they have informed in writing to their Head of Office/Department that they have applied for the examination.
- Duly filled in Application Form itself.
Note:
If the above documents are not submitted alongwith the application, application will be rejected summarily or at any stage of the recritment process and no request for revival will be considered.
Incomplete or unsigned applications or applications without Photograph/fee or late applications will be rejected summarily.
Candidates should not that only the Date of Birth, as recorded in the Matriculation / Secondary Examination Certificate OR an equivalent certificate on the date of submission of application, will be accepted by the Commission, and no subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted.
27. i) The decision of the Commission as to the eligibility or otherwise of a candidate for admission to the examination shall be final.
ii) No candidate will be admitted to the examination unless he/she holds certificate of admission (AC) from the Commission. The candidate must take the examination at the allotted centre of examination.
