Pay Scale: Rs. 5500-175-9000.

SSC Age Limit: Not exceeding 28 years (No age relaxation for SC / ST / OBC candidates). Relaxable for Central Government servants by 12 years in accordance with instructions issued by the Central Government, (This age relaxation is admissible only to Civilian Central Government Servants and not to Armed Force Personnel).

The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India (and not the closing date prescribed for those in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland. Tripura, Sikkim, Laddakh division of Jammu and Kashmir State, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi Subdivision of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh and. Andaman and Nicobar Islands or Lakshadweep).

Education Qualification for Library Information Assistants:

• Degree of recognized university or equivalent
• Degree in Library Sciences from a recognized university.
• Knowledge of language / dialect of area concerned (i.e., Kannada Language).

IP: Hassan & Madikeri, Karnataka with transfers within the state.

Junior:

• He is in charge of the library of the Station which contains books, gramphone And electrical recordings and tapes. He should maintain separated Stock Registers in form S-48 for books purchased and books received free, in AIR-A4 for gramophone records purchased and in form AIR-A6 for electrical recordings / tapes.
• The account of Transcription Service Records may be maintained in form AIR-AS.
• A separate account of tapes supplied to the Station under the circulation quota From the Central Tape Bank is to be kept in register -AIR-A.76 (CTB4).
• He should invariably take stock of books, gramphone records, electrical recordings etc. in his charge, on the following occasions :-

(a) on appointment to the post of Librarian:

(b) On return from leave; and

(c) On transfer.

• A cent per cent physical verification of the books should be undertaken at the end of each financial year. Note: Since the post is identified not suitable for the PH candidates, applications from PH candidates will not be considered.
