Pay Scale: Rs. 5000-150-8000.

SSC Age Limits: Not exceeding 25 years (No age relaxation for SC / ST / OBC candidates.Relaxable for Central Government servants by 10 years in accordance with instructions issued by the Central Government). (This age relaxation is admissible only to Civilian Central Government Servants and not to Armed Force Personnel). Upper age limits relaxable by 10 years to physically handicapped categories candidates.

The crucial date tor determining the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India (and not the closing date prescribed for those in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh division of Jammu and Kashmir State, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi Sub-division of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands or Lakshadweep).

Education Qualification for SSC Karnataka – Kerala Region 2007:

• Master's degree of a recognized University in Hindi or English with English or Hindi as a main subject at the degree level. OR
• Master's degree from a recognized University in any subject with Hindi as the medium of examination with English as a compulsory subject at degree level. OR
• Bachelor's degree with Hindi and English as main subject or either of the two as medium of examination and other as a main subject plus recognized Diploma Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa or two years experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice-versa in Central Government Offices, including Government of India Undertakings.

IP: Mangalore, Karnataka with AISL.

Junior: To translate scientific literature, abstracts and other official documents from English to Hindi & vice versa. Operations on computer bilingually, drafting letters in English and Hindi, maintaining correspondence with other departments. Compilation of data / information, editing, assistance in the production of in-house journals in consultation with superiors.
