Staff Selection Commission (SSC) - Combined Graduate Level(Main) Examination, 2007

1. The Commission will hold the Combined Graduate Level (Main) Examination, 2006 at selected examination centres all over the country on 4th, 5th, 11th and 12th August, 2007. Results of Combined Graduate Level (Preliminary) Examination, 2006 conducted by Staff Selection Commission is likely to be declared by the middle of April,2007. The Regional/Sub Regional Offices of the Commission will send blank prescribed Application Forms to all such candidates who qualify in the Combined Graduate Level ( Preliminary ) Examination, 2006 held on 04.02.2007. The successful candidates will be required to submit the duly filled in applications to the concerned Regional/Sub Regional Offices of the Commission within the stipulated Closing date( 11.05.2007 ) for appearing in the Combined Graduate Level (Main) Examination, 2006.

2. The Combined Graduate Level (Main) Examination, 2007 will be held for recruitment to the following posts:-

  1. Inspectors of Income Tax / Inspector(Central Excise) /, Inspector (Preventive Officer) / Inspector( Examiner ) in Custom Houses, ( Group 'B' Non-Gazetted ) in the pay scale of Rs.6500-10,500 and Inspector of Posts in the pay scale of Rs.5500-9000.
  2. Assistants( Group ‘B’ Non Gazetted post ) for Offices / Organisations like Central Secretariat Service(CSS), Railway Board, Election Commission of India in the pay scale of Rs.6500-10,500/-.and also in the Offices, viz, Ministry of External Affairs, AFHQ, Department of Tourism etc in the pay scale of Rs.5500-9000.
  3. Assistant Enforcement Officers(Group “C”,Non Gazetted) in the pay scale of Rs.6500-10500/- and Sub-Inspectors in CBI in the pay scale of Rs.5500-9000/-.
  4. Divisional Accountant in the pay scale of Rs.5500-9000 , Auditors / Junior Accountants in the pay scale of Rs.4500-7000 and UDCs in the pay scale of Rs.4000-6000 in various Central Government Departments/Offices.

Subject to confirmation of vacancies in the relevant category of post from the Departments / Organisations / Offices.

Applications Are Hereby Invited For The Combined Graduate Level(Main) Exam-2006 Only. Candidates Will Have To Apply Again With Requisite Fees, Wherever Applicable, In The Prescribed Application Form, Which Will Be S Ent / Supplied To Such Qualified Candidates By The Concerned Regional Office(S) Of The Commission.

3(A) Vacancies / Reservation:

Firm number of vacancies will be determined in due course.

  1. Reservation as per instructions of DOPT will be made for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Ex-Servicemen, PH candidates for all categories of posts wherever admissible as per extant Government Orders.
  2. Vacancies for ExS shall be reserved as per extant Government Orders for Group “C” posts of Assistant Enforcement Officers, Sub Inspectors of CBI, and recruitment of Divisional Accountants/ Junior Accountants/Auditors/ UDCs only.
  3. For the Posts of Inspector( Income Tax ), Inspector (Central Excise), Inspector ( Preventive Officer ) / Inspector( Examiner ) in CBEC, Inspector of Posts and Assistants being Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted Posts, reservation for Ex-Servicemen in direct recruitment is not applicable as per extant Government Orders.

Note I: Female candidates are eligible for all categories of posts specified in the Notice.

Note II: Candidates selected for appointment are liable to serve anywhere in India, i.e., all these posts carry All India Service Liability (AISL).

Note III:

  • PH (OH/HH/VH) candidates are not eligible for the post of Sub Inspectors in CBI and Assistant Enforcement Officers and hence, no reservation for them.
  • Disabled Persons (OH) with one leg affected , one arm affected or partially Hearing impaired with assistive devises are eligible for the post of Inspector ( Central Excise ), Inspector ( Preventive Officer ), Inspector (Examiner)
  • Inspector of Posts is not identified as suitable post for reservation for Physically Handicapped candidates, and hence no reservation for PH category. Candidates must be a person of active habits and physically able to stand the strain of constant Railway travelling by night and as well as by day.
  • VH candidates are eligible only for the posts of Assistant under Scheme ‘A’ and UDC under Scheme ’B’.

Note IV: Though Physical standard have been specified for posts of Inspector (Central Excise), Inspector(Preventive Officer) and Inspector, (Examiner), Orthopaedically Handicapped(OH) candidates, however, are eligible for these posts and are exempted from such physical standard as prescribed subject to their being otherwise medically fit.

Note V: In addition to Visually Handicapped persons, Colour blind and one-eyed persons are also not eligible for the posts of Inspector (Central Excise), Inspector (Preventive Officer ) and Inspector (Examiner).
