Scheme of Examination:

The examination will be conducted in two Parts.

PART – I (Preliminary Examination)

PART – I (Preliminary Examination) for the above posts will be objective type (multiple choice) consisting of the following components.

PART- II (Main Examination)

PART - II (Main Examination) consist of Descriptive type Questions of 200 marks and to be answered in 2 ˝ Hours. The question will be on the concerned subject/trade /work of the relevant post as prescribed for the post and will be of the same level as applicable for the concerned post.

The detailed syllabus for Part – I (Preliminary Examination) of all the above posts (i.e. A (1), A(2) & A(3) will be as follows:

The questions (test components) of the Part – I (Preliminary Examination) will be generally on the minimum qualification level of the post concerned.

(a) General Awareness: Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate’s General Awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matter of everyday observation and development in science & technology as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions on History, Indian Polity & Constitution, Art & Culture, Geography, Economics, Agriculture, General Policy, Science & Scientific Research etc.

(b) General Intelligence and Reasoning: The syllabus for General Intelligence and Reasoning includes questions of both verbal and non-verbal types. Test may include questions on analogies, similarities, differences, discrimination, observation, classification and relationship, concepts, arithmetical reasoning, arithmetical number series etc. The test also includes questions designed to test the candidate’s abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationships, arithmetical computations and other analytical functions etc.

(c) Arithmetic and Numerical Ability: For the test Arithmetical and Numerical Abilities will cover Number System including questions on Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs, etc.

(d) Knowledge and comprehension of Language, Hindi and English: In addition to the testing of candidate’s understanding of the English & Hindi Languages, its Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms and its correct usage etc., would also be tested.
