2.0 Cultural Quota in RRC Southern Railway 2013
2.1 RRC Southern Railway Cultural Quota Essential Qualification 2013
Candidates should possess Degree / Diploma / Certificate in Music from Government recognised Institute.
2.2 RRC Southern Railway Desirable Qualification 2013
- Experience in the field and performance given on AIR / Doordarshan, etc.
- Prizes won at National level.
2.3 Procedure for Southern Railway Recruitment against Cultural Quota
The candidates, who apply in response to Southern Railway RRC 2013 notification and are found eligible for consideration for appointment, will be assessed on the following basis.

3.0 Scouts and Guides Quota for RRC Posts with GP


3.1 Qualifications for RRC Southern Railway Scouts & Guides Quota 2013
- A President’s Scout / Guide / Ranger / Rover ( or ) Himalayan Wood Badge Holder ( or ) A pre-HWB trained Scout leader / Advanced Trained Guider / Leader / Captain.
- Should have been an active member of a Scouts organisation for at least 3 ( three ) years in recent past and should continue to be active; @
- Should have attended at least one event at National level and one or two events at State Level; # ( or ) Should have a good record of participation in Scouts / Guides at Unit / District level; $
Explanatory Note : @ At least three years in the recent past i.e. during 2010 – 11, 2011 – 12, 2012 – 13 and should continue to be active, i.e. during 2013 – 14 ( till date ).
# Candidate should have attended at least one National event besides one or two state level events.
$ Certificate should contain the ‘List of events attended by candidate’.
3.2 Procedure for RRC Southern Railway Recruitment for Scouts & Guides Quota 2013
The candidates, who apply in response to Southern Railway 2013 notification and are found eligible for consideration for appointment, will be assessed on the following basis.
A. | Southern Railway Written Test 2013 : The Written test will consist of 50 objective type questions relating to Scouts & Guides organisation and its activities as per syllabus outlined below. | 50 marks |

3.5 The Written Examinations for Southern Railway RRC 2013 will be conducted separately for recruitment to RRC posts with Grade Pay 1,900/- and
1,800/- against Scouts & Guides quota.
Common Conditions for both Cultural and Scouts & Guides Quota
4.0 Posts and Educational Qualification
4.1 For Non – Technical Popular Categories ( Posts with GP 1,900/- ) : Passed Matriculation or its equivalent with not less than 50% marks in aggregate. Minimum percentage of 50% marks in aggregate is not applicable to SC / ST candidates and to those candidates ( irrespective of community ), who possess qualifications higher than matriculation such as HSC / Intermediate / Graduation / Post Graduation. ( or )
4.2 For Technician Categories ( Posts with GP 1,900/- ) : Act Apprenticeship / ITI. No other qualification including Diploma in Engineering will be accepted as an alternative qualification. Act Apprenticeship / ITI Certificate must be approved by SCVT / NCVT.
4.3 For Posts with GP 1,800/- ( Scouts & Guides Quota Only ) : Minimum 10th Pass or ITI or equivalent at the time of applying.
4.4 Specific category in posts with GP 1,900/- &
1,800/- and place of posting will be decided by the Southern Railway administration at the time of offering appointment to the selected candidates.

5.2.4 Staff of Quasi Administrative Offices of Railway Organisations : Relaxation of age will be to the extent of 5 years (or) service rendered by them in such organisations, whichever is less.
5.2.5 Ex-Servicemen Candidates : Relaxation of age will be to the extent of service rendered by them in Defence Services plus 3 years provided they have put in a minimum of 6 months service after attestation and up to the age of 40 years for reservists not employed in Government Service.
