Southern Railway RRC invites applications for Ex-Servicemen recruitment in the prescribed format to fill up 813 vacancies ( Southern Railway – 793 & ICF- 20 ) in Pay Band – 1 of 5,200-20,200 with Grade Pay of 1,800/- ( erstwhile Group ‘D’ posts ) in Southern Railway ( Southern Railway ) and Integral Coach Factory ( ICF ), Chennai.
1.0 Eligibility Criteria for SR RRC Ex-Servicemen Jobs 2013
Ex-Serviceman who has retired after putting in 15 years of service and has passed Army Class-I certificate or equivalent will be considered eligible.
2.0 Southern Railway RRC Ex-Servicemen Age Limit ( as on 01.07.2013 ) & Relaxation

3.0 Procedure for Recruitment of Ex-Servicemen in Southern Railway RRC 2013
The recruitment for RRC Southern Railway shall be on the basis of scrutiny of applications and the Ex-Servicemen should be medically fit for the job being considered for. The panel will be formed primarily on the basis of Ex-Servicemen’s length of Military service.
3.1 Community Certificate For SC / ST category of Ex-Servicemen only.
The candidates claiming to belong to SC / ST are required to produce Community Certificate from the competent Authority in the prescribed format ( ‘Proforma’ is available in the web site ) and enclose a copy of the same with the application.
3.32 For OBC category of Ex-Servicemen only
- The candidates claiming to belong to OBC communities are required to produce Community Certificate from the competent Authority in the prescribed format ( ‘Proforma’ is available in the website ) at the time of Document Verification.
- The Community Certificates produced by the OBC candidates should specifically indicate that the candidate does not belong to persons / sections ( Creamy layer ).
4.0 General Instructions for Southern Railway RRC Vacancies 2013
4.1 The candidates applying in response to this notification shall ensure that he / she fulfils all eligibility conditions at the time of submission of RRC SR Application.
4.2 The number of Southern Railway vacancies shown in RRC notification is provisional and the same is liable to increase or decrease or even become NIL, depending upon the actual needs of the administration.
4.3 Enclosures : Self – attested Photostat copy of the certificates in support of ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Educational Qualifications’, Military service ( Discharge Certificate ) and Community ( For candidates belonging to SC / ST only ) need to be enclosed along with application.
4.4 Original Certificate / Documents to be submitted for RRC SR Jobs 2013
4.41 It is the responsibility of the candidates to produce original certificates / documents along with Self- attested Photostat copy in support of ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Educational Qualifications’, and ‘Military service ( Discharge Certificate )’ at the time of Document Verification, failing which, his / her application shall be rejected.
4.42 It is the responsibility of the candidates to produce original certificates / documents along with Self – attested Photostat copy in support of Community ( if candidates claiming to belong to SC / ST / OBC ) at the time of Document Verification.
4.5 The candidate shall attend the Document verification, along with all relevant original certificates, at the date, time & venue specified by Railway Recruitment Cell.
4.6 Similarly, the candidate shall attend Medical Examination at the date, time & venue specified by Railway Recruitment Cell Southern Railway.
4.7 Any request for change of date, time & venue will not be entertained.
4.8 Free Pass : SC / ST candidates alone will be issued with 11-Class Free Pass for their journey from their nearest Railway Station to the venue of Document verification and Medical Examination. Others will have to make their own arrangements. No reimbursement of travel expenses will be made on any account.
4.9 Service Personnel who are likely to be discharged from military service on or before 08.07.2014 are also eligible to apply against this notification.
4.10 Mere issue of Call Letter to the candidate will not imply that his or her candidature has been finally cleared by RRC, Chennai.
4.11 RRC, Chennai, is free to reject any application not fulfilling the requisite Eligibility Criteria, at any stage of recruitment. If appointed erroneously, such candidate’s services shall be summarily terminated without any notice.
4.12 The selected candidates are not having any exclusive right for any Post, Department & Railway / Production Unit. In the interest of Administrative exigencies, selected candidates are likely to be posted anywhere, in any post / category / Department of Southern Railway / Integral Coach Factory, after successful completion of training, wherever prescribed. The decision of the Railway administration is final.
4.13 Decision of Railway Recruitment Cell, Chennai, in all matters relating to recruitment will be final and binding on the candidates.

5.1 Application for RRC SR Recruitments 2013
The proforma of ‘Application Form’ given in RRC Southern Railway notification should be on a good quality, A – 4 size plain paper, using one side only. Candidates should fill up the required information in his / her own handwriting only. ( Candidate can also download application from RRC website ).
5.2 Photo : One passport size photograph ( not older than one month ) should be pasted on the application form, at the space specified.
5.3 Application for RRC in the prescribed format, complete in all respects along with all the enclosures should be sent in a cover duly superscribing “Application for Recruitment against Ex-servicemen Quota” to the following address.

5.4 All the candidates should send their application well in advance before the closing date. RRC, Chennai, will not be responsible for any postal delay / wrong delivery for whatsoever reason, at any stage of the recruitment process.
