Sub : Formation of panel for the post of Traffic Apprentice in PB – 1 9300 – 34800 with Grade Pay of 4200 against 10% LDCE quota in operating Department of Secunderabad Division.
It is proposed to conduct selection to the post of Traffic Apprentice in Pay Band 2 9300 – 34800 with Grade Pay of 4200 against 10% LDCE quota in Operating Department, Secunderabad Division.
1. The No. of Vacancies assessed is 29 ( UR – 24, SC – 03, ST – 02 ).
2. SCR Railway Traffic Apprentice Eligibility 2015 : All Group C regular employees in operating department other than ministerial staff who are graduates.
3. Age Limit for SCR Railway Traffic Apprentice 2015 : Maximum age should not exceed 40 years in case of General candidates and 45 years in case of SC / ST candidates as on the date of notification i.e. 27.05.2015.
4. SCR Railway Traffic Apprentice Educational Qualifications 2015 :
- The candidates should possess minimum educational qualification of Graduation from any recognised university.
- Diploma in Rail Transport and management from the institute of Rail Transport / New Delhi will be a desirable qualification.
5. Mode of SCR Railway Traffic Apprentice Selection 2015 :
The LDCE selection consists of written examination and scrutiny of service records, such as service registers, APARs etc. The SC / ST employees will be imparted pre selection coaching for a period of 3 – 4 weeks ( 21 working days ). The candidates should secure 60% of marks in the written examination for being considered for further selection process of perusal of Service records. There is no relaxation of qualifying marks to reserved community employees since the post of Traffic Apprentice is classified as safety category post. The final panel will be drawn based on the overall merit ( written examination + service records ), to the extent of vacancies duly observing reservation break up.
No supplementary written examination will be conducted for absentees since the selection is conducted by calling volunteers.
The employees selected as Traffic Apprentice should undergo medical exam in AYE TWO and aptitude test and after being found fit in medical and aptitude test they will be required to under go prescribed initial training as Traffic Apprentice. On successful completion of training they will be absorbed as Traffic Inspectors / Dy.SSs / SMs in PB – 2 9300 – 34800 + GP 4200. The eligible employees should submit their applications in the prescribed proforma enclosed duly affixed recent passport size photo and attested by concerned supervisor duly filled in all respects along with certificates in support of their educational qualifications, Date of birth and Community certificates duly attested by a Gazetted Officer to Sr.DOM/SC through their Supervisory officials on or before 22.06.2015 who in turn will forward all applications of eligible staff under one covering letter addressed to APO/T/SC on or before 26.06.2015.
The applications which are incomplete, or received after the last date i.e. after 26.06.2015 or without forwarding from supervisory official will not be considered and no correspondence in this matter will be entertained.
Staff selected and promoted as Traffic Apprentice will have to seek further promotions as per Avenue prescribed to Traffic Apprentice and no requests for repatriation to their parent category will be entertained under any circumstances.

The exact date of SCR Railway Traffic Apprentice written test and venue will be intimated in due course to the eligible volunteers.

Part A : General knowledge, ability to write reports etc.
Part B : General railway working with particular reference to Operating Department.
Through knowledge of General and subsidiary rules, basic for preparation of S.W.R. knowledge of various standards of Inter locking.
Intimate knowledge if accident rules and to be taken in event of serious accidents.
Knowledge of procedures to be followed for working of trains under various abnormal conditions.
Design and working of marshalling yards, marshalling yard statistics.
Functions of control office, Principles of train ordering.
Operating statistics knowledge of various fundamental and derived units sources and compilation.
Section capacity and through put.
Super expresses, QTS, Container Services & ODC Jumbo Rakes and C.C. Rakes, Better utilization of CRT, BCX, and BOX-N wagon rakes.
Systems of working and fundamentals of signaling, classes of stations and model diagrams for each class under TALQ ( MAUQ ) CLS, automatic signaling.
Operating stations, Inspections and safety checks.
