2. Age Limit for RRB ALP & Technician : The lower and upper age limit indicated will be reckoned as on 01.07.2016. The upper age limit is relaxable as under, subject to submission of requisite certificates. ( Indicate the Number of the Age Relaxation category as given below in the Application Form – ( Item No.13 ) – For example – OBC candidate, Enter 2.02 in the box ).
2.1 By 5 years for SC / ST candidates.
2.2 By 3 years for OBC candidates.
2.3 For Ex-Servicemen, up to the extent of service rendered in Defence, plus 3 years, provided they have put in more than 6 months service after attestation.
2.4 By 5 years for candidates who have ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989.
2.5 By 10 years for Persons with Disabilities ( PWD ) UR, ( 13 years for OBC and 15 years for SC / ST ).
2.6 For serving Group ‘C and erstwhile Group ‘D’ Railway Staff, Casual Labour and Substitutes, the upper age limit will be up to 40 years for Unreserved candidates, 45 years for SC / ST candidates and 43 years for OBC candidates, provided they have put in a minimum of 3 years service ( continuous or in broken spells ). For those working in Quasi-Administrative offices of the Railway organization such as Railway Canteens, Co-operative Societies and Institutes, the relaxation in upper age limit will be up to the length of service rendered, subject to a maximum of 5 years.
2.7 Upper age limit in case of widows, divorced women and women judicially separated from husband but not remarried shall be 35 years for Unreserved, 38 years for OBC and 40 years for SC / ST candidates.
2.8 (a) The upper age limit in case of Course Completed Act Apprentices applying for those posts whose minimum qualification is ITI / Course Completed Act apprentice shall be relaxed to the extent of apprenticeship training undergone by them under the Apprenticeship Act 1961.
(b) Upper age limit for the Course Completed Act Apprentice will be 35 years if he / she had commenced Act Apprenticeship, under the Apprenticeship Act before attaining the age of 25 years. In addition, the candidates belonging to SC / ST & OBC are eligible for normal relaxation of 5 years and 3 years respectively.
2.9 No age relaxation is allowed to SC / ST / OBC candidates applying against unreserved vacancies.
2.10 The date of birth for candidates for different age groups, should be between the dates given below : ( Both dates inclusive )

3. RRB ALP & Technician Examination Fee :
( Indicate the Number of the fee exemption as given below in the RRB ALP & Technician Application Form – ( Item No.11 ) – For example Women candidates, Enter No.4 in the box ).
3.01 No examination fee for (1) SC / ST (2) Ex-Servicemen (3) Persons with Disability (4) Women (5) Minorities (6) Economically Backward candidates having annual family income less than 50,000/.
3.02 For Unreserved / OBC Male candidates not coming within the purview of minority / economically backward classes / PWD / Ex-Servicemen, examination fee of 40/- for ALP all other Technician categories. Candidates should send separate application for each RRB.
3.3 The RRB ALP & Technician examination fees are non-refundable. It should be paid in the form of a crossed Demand Draft valid fora period of three months / or in the form of crossed Indian Postal Order, to be drawn, in favour of “Assistant Secretary, or Secretary or Member Secretary or Chairman of Railway Recruitment Board concerned as mentioned in para – 15. The Demand Draft should be drawn at the main branch of any of the Nationalized Banks / IPO drawn to be payable at the place where the Railway Recruitment Board concerned is situated as mentioned in the para -15 given below. Outstation drafts will not be accepted. The Bank Drafts / IPO should not be obtained earlier to the date of issue of this Centralised Employment Notice. ( Or ) Fees can be paid by the way of E-Payment at any of the computerized Post Offices across India, into RRB-Manual account. The original receipt obtained should be pasted on the reverse paid of the Application Form.
3.4 Candidates should write the CEN No., Category number of the First Option and their name and postal address on the reverse of the Bank Demand Draft / IPO.
3.5 Remittance of examination fee in any form other than Bank Demand Draft / IPO / E-payment at at Post Office will not be accepted ( except in case of On-Line applications wherever this facility is provided, examination fee can be remitted through Bank Challan / Credit Card / Debit Card as provided for ).
3.6 The particulars of Demand Draft / IPO / Original Post Office Receipt, submitted as examination fee should also be indicated at the prescribed place in the Application Form. ( Item No.12 of Application Form ).
3.7 Applications not accompanied with Bank Demand Draft / IPO / Original Post Office receipt of requisite amount for examination fee, wherever required, will be summarily rejected.
3.8 Minorities mean Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists and Zorastrians ( Parsis ). Minority candidates claiming waiver of examination fee will be required to furnish ‘minority community declaration’ affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper that they belong to any of the above minority communities at the time of document verification. If the affidavit is not produced, their candidature will be rejected.
3.9 Economically backward candidates means those whose annual family income is less than 50,000/-. They have to submit income certificate at the time of document verification in the prescribed format as given in annexure – 7 on the letter head of the issuing authority.
