Air India Medical Officers Aviation Medicine Specialist Recruitment 2011
Air India Medical Officers Applications 2011 are invited for the post of 7 Medical Officers and 1 Aviation Medicine Specialist for its Offices in India.
(A) Reservation as per Government guidelines.
Reservation for Persons with Disabilities will be as per PWD Act, 1995.
(B) Eligibility Criteria for Air India
(i) Qualification and Experience Air India Medical Officer :
Air India Medical Officer – Post Graduate with two years experience. Experience in Casualty / Aviation Medicine will be preferred. – Aviation Medicine Specialist – Post Graduate in Aviation Medicine with two years experience.
(ii) Air India Age Limit :
Should be not more than 30 years as on 1.8.2011. The upper age limit for Air India is relaxable upto 5 years for SC / ST and 3 years for OBC candidates. A relaxation in Air India upper age limit by 5 years will be granted to persons who have ordinarily been domiciled in Kashmir Division of Jammu & Kashmir State during 1.1.1980 to 31.12.1989. For Ex-Servicemen, the relaxation is as per Government rules.
(C) Air India Selection Procedure :
Candidates who fulfill the above Air India eligibility criteria will have to appear for Air India Personal Interview. The candidates may also have to appear for Written Test before appearing for Air India Personal Interview.
(D) Air India Remuneration :
Gross emoluments inclusive of all allowances at the minimum of the Air India pay scale 2011 will be approximately 52,000 /- per month. The Medical Officers in Air India are permitted private practice as per terms and conditions laid down by the Company. Those who do not wish to do private practice will be paid an additional non-practicing allowance as per Company rules.
(E) Other Benefits in Air India :
Provident Fund, Gratuity, Medical Assistance and Air Passage concessions etc. as per Company’s rules.
(F) General :
(a) The candidates selected for the Air India posts may be needed to work in shifts by rotation. They will be required to examine, treat the employees, and attend to the emergencies in the Airport areas. They will also be required to provide such services to the passengers as and when required. They will assist in dealing with the casualties of the accidents in the Airport areas and Air India’s Industrial complexes. When necessary they will escort serious patients to the hospitals. Their Air India duties will include the pre-employment , periodic and other medical, health and related subjects. They will also give lectures on medical health and related subjects and Air India training the crew and ground personnel in First Aid etc. The Air India Medical Officer will conduct Pre-flight Medical Examination of all crew.
(b) Candidates belonging to and applying under OBC category are required to furnish OBC Certificate with “Non-Creamy Layer” clause; otherwise their candidature will be cancelled. OBC Candidates should ensure that his / her caste is reflected in the Central List of OBCs.
(c) Any canvassing by or on behalf of the candidate or bringing political or other outside influence with regard to their selection shall be considered a disqualification.
(G) Application Form for Air India Medical Officer :
i) Candidates meeting with the eligibility criteria mentioned in this advertisement as on 1.8.2011, may apply to the following address on or before 20th August 2011 in the prescribed Air India Application Form 2011, along with the application fee of 300 /- ( Rupees Three hundred only ) by means of an A/c Payee Demand Draft in favour of “Air India Ltd.” payable at Mumbai, which is not refundable. Please mention your Full Name on the reverse of the Demand Draft.

ii) No fees to be paid by applicants belonging to SC / ST Communities.
iii) Air India Applications without requisite fee as applicable will not be considered.
iv) Applications for Air India once submitted will not be allowed to be withdrawn and neither the fees paid will be refunded on any account, nor would this fee be held in reserve for any future examination or selection.
v) Air India Medical Officers Application form 2011 which are Unsigned incomplete mutilated without applicable Requisite Fee / without supporting documents of Eligibility Criteria and Caste Status if applicable, will not be considered and such candidates will not be allowed to appear for the Air India Selection Process. The applicants should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility criteria and that the particulars furnished by them in the Air India Applications 2011 are correct in all respects. At any stage of the Air India selection process, if the application form for Air India, or testimonials and caste certificates are found incorrect or false their candidature would be liable to be rejected and if appointed their services would be terminated without giving any notice or reasons thereof.
vi) A recent ( not more than three months old ) passport size coloured photograph of full face ( front size ) should be pasted neatly in the space provided in the Air India Medical Officers Application Form.
vii) Attested photocopy of the Caste Certificate in prescribed format issued by the competent authority should be attached with the Air India application, in case of SC / ST Candidates.
viii) SC / ST Candidates called for Air India Personal Interview who are residing beyond 80 kms from the selection centre to their residence, and not employed in any Government, Semi-Government / Public Sector Undertaking or Autonomous Bodies, will be reimbursed second class to and from rail / bus fare by the shortest route as per Govt, rules, on production of evidence to that effect.
ix) The candidates belonging to OBC Categories, at the time of Air India application, must submit an attested photocopy of the Certificate recently issued by the Competent Authority, in the format as prescribed by Govt, of India. The Certificate, inter alia, must specifically state that the candidate does not belong to socially advanced sections excluded from the benefits of reservations for OBC in civil posts and services under the Govt, of India. The Certificate should also contain the “Non-Creamy Layer” clause. The Certificate produced by the candidates of OBC Community should be as per the Central List published by the Government of India.
x) Applicants ordinarily domiciled in Kashmir Division of J & K State during 1.1.1980 to 31.12.1989 who are eligible for the upper age relaxation for Air India must produce the domicile certificate to this effect at the time of Air India interview from the District Magistrate in the Kashmir Division within whose jurisdiction the applicant had ordinarily resided or any other authority designated in this regard by the Govt, of Jammu & Kashmir.
xi) The applicants should ensure that they fulfill the Air India eligibility criteria. Other particulars furnished should be correct in all respects. At any stage of the Air India selection process, if the application for Air India or testimonials supplied are found incorrect / false, or not meeting with the eligibility criteria prescribed for the Air India post, the candidature is liable to be rejected and, if appointed, services would be terminated without giving any notice or reasons therefore.
xii) Applicants working in Govt., Semi-Govt., / Public Sector Undertaking or autonomous bodies, must apply through proper channels. In such cases, their candidature will be considered only on provisional basis. Such applicants will be allowed to join only if they produce “No Objection Certificate” from their employer before joining.
