Sailors Matric Entry Recruitment Examination (MER Exam)

Eligibility for Sailors Matric Entry Recruitment Exam (MER Exam):

Marital Status: Unmarried Indian Male citizens are eligible.

Age: 17-20 years on the 1st January or 1st August of the year of examination.

Educational Qualifications: Matric or equivalent with 55% or above marks in Science and Maths. Candidates having less than 55% marks in Matric are also eligible provided they have got 55% or above marks in any higher board examination with Science and Maths.

Physical Standards:

• Height: 157 cms (minimum) for 18 years of age
• Weight: Proportionate to height (plus and minus 10% acceptable)
• Chest: Well developed and proportioned with minimum expansion range of 5cms
• Without glasses better eye 6/6 and worse eye 6/9. Colour Perception: CP II;
• Good mental and physical health free from any disease/disability.
