Selection Procedure For Ground duty officers:
a) Through Scrutiny of the applications by Command HQ. b) Common Entrance Test (CET) at the centres mentioned. Separate dates are given for male and female candidates. c) The test will have objective and descriptive test items to test the knowledge in English and General Awareness. d) Candidates are to appear for the CET at their own expense. e) List of short listed candidates based on CET results will be available in Air Force Web site f) www.careerairforce.nic.in g) For 121 Ground Duty Officers Course for Men and 14 SSC course for women - Course commencing in January 2007 at Air Force Academy, Hyderebad. Candidate below 25 years of age must be unmarried.
The period of Training will be 52 Weeks. The training will include rigorous physical training, general service orientation, academic and professional subjects.
With recently introduced quicker promotion policy - Promotion to the rank of Wing Commander after 13 years of service subject to certain conditions.
Initial tenure for Short Service Commission will be for a period of ten years. AN extension of four years may be granted subject to service requirement and availability of vacancies.
